About Shep

Shep initially engaged in a broad civil practice and eventually focused on litigation, arbitration and regulatory matters that impacted investments, business transactions and the financial services industry. He has represented investors, public and private companies, broker-dealers, financial institutions, investment advisers, commodities firms and registered representatives in a wide variety of matters throughout the country, including breach of contract actions, trading desk disputes, raiding and employee transition cases, intellectual property matters, mark-up issues and fraud and breach of fiduciary duty suits. He has also counseled associated persons and firms with respect to regulatory matters and represented firms and registered representatives in regulatory proceedings involving FINRA and state and federal securities regulators.

 

A former chair of the Securities Section of the Memphis Bar Association, Shep has spoken at numerous seminars on securities litigation, arbitration and employment issues.

 

Shep has been recognized ten times by The Best Lawyers in America© as Memphis "Lawyer of the Year" for

Shep is a graduate of Vanderbilt University (B.A. 1974) and Vanderbilt University School of Law (J.D. 1977) and is a Fellow of the Memphis Bar Association and the Tennessee Bar Association. He is rated AV by Martindale-Hubble.

In addition to his law practice, Shep serves as a AAA arbitrator and as a mediator for difficult disputes that the parties and their counsel need assistance in resolving.
